Noema Signal Labs is developing next-generation non-linear MIMO processing technology to improve the performance and efficiency of 5G and future wireless networks. We are looking for a talented Graduate Engineer to join our team at an early stage of their career. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of turning breakthrough algorithms into real-world deployable systems, with close mentorship from our experienced research and engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and development of advanced PHY layer signal processing algorithms for 5G and future wireless systems.
Assist in the development and validation of MIMO signal processing algorithms, including non-linear detection and precoding techniques.
Build and maintain link-level simulations to evaluate algorithmic performance against theoretical benchmarks.
Support the integration and testing of algorithms on software-defined radio platforms and real hardware.
Work closely with senior researchers and engineers to help take algorithms from research to deployable systems.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong background in mathematics, including linear algebra, probability theory and stochastic processes, at degree level.
Solid understanding of DSP fundamentals, digital communications theory and information theory, at degree level.
Familiarity with fundamentals of RF systems.
Programming experience in MATLAB, demonstrated through academic projects, coursework or personal projects.
Highly Desirable Skills
Experience designing signal processing algorithms and verifying implementations against reference models.
Understanding of MIMO systems, non-linear detection techniques, or advanced channel coding.
Experience building link-level simulations for wireless systems.
Some familiarity with 3GPP NR standards, even at a conceptual level.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) or satellite communications signal processing challenges.
Programming experience in C/C++, demonstrated through academic projects, coursework or personal projects.
Experience with software-defined radio platforms (e.g. USRP, GNU Radio), even in a lab or academic context.
Exposure to GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL).
Non-Technical Skills
Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
Ability to read and understand technical standards and research papers.
Interest in working at the boundary between research and engineering.
Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team.
What We Offer
A unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in advanced wireless signal processing algorithms at an early stage of your career.
Close mentorship from experienced researchers and engineers.
A key role within a growing deep-tech startup working on technology that will shape the future of wireless communications.
Close collaboration with leading academic research groups and industry partners.
